UT paying athletes

UT students aren’t typically arrogant. What you may have seen posted here is frustration with someone with no experience at UT who frequently provides “information” that is incorrect.
Asking questions is fine. Posting uninformed opinions as if they were fact is not.

There is a big difference between comparisons to LSU…LSU has been punished, time and time again, for recruiting violations. In fact, they’ve been on probation more often than any other football program (Alabama is close behind)

UT is widely considered to have one of the cleanest athletic programs in the country. UT has a few comparatively minor violations in the 1980s (who didn’t) but didn’t even lose TV rights except for one season I believe, unlike programs like SMU and Texas A&M. Since the fall of the SWC, UT has been completely clean. Zero major violations whatsoever, only a couple secondary violations which were self-reported as soon as noticed (this happens to every program).

So any kid who has a BMW didn’t get it from the school. He may have taken it from a booster, and if he did, especially if UT knows about it, **** would hit the fan. For some reason, though, I doubt he has a BMW because of football, unless it’s because he’s using his stipend to pay the lease on a 3-series like every $30k millionaire in Dallas.

Pierrechn, if you know of a possible violation, please PM me with details. I will put you in touch with my father, who is one of the main people responsible for making sure rules are being followed. I am serious.

If you’re not serious, please stop making unfounded allegations.

LonghornDan,

I know exactly what you are saying but i just want a beemer :)

I think we all do :D

pierrechn, you’ve been awfully quiet. Did you decide to drop it?

Didnt really have time to post, my graduation was yesterday. :)

When you transfer to UT, what will your major be?

Clearly it won’t be English…

…and it’s amazing how important English is in every major and career!

I guess pierrechn wants to make allegations and then back away from them. It’s a pretty serious matter to start a thread with a title like this, especially involving a university he claims he wants to attend.

@sundoll

You’re a 28yr old college junior right?

this is a ■■■■■■■■ topic it makes no sense.

Damn straight. Are you trying to insinuate anything by that comment, or simply asserting your ability to use the search function on the forums?

Texas - hang around long enough and you’ll see that most of what pierrechn posts doesn’t make any sense.

did you go to the army after HS or something?

And how could the details of my personal life possibly have any bearing on this conversation or be any of your concern?

o okay its cool

I agree, Maine. If Pierrechn’s assertions are baseless, as they appear to be since he has not provided you with concrete details for your father to follow up on, then perhaps the prudent thing for him to do is to ask CC to delete the entire thread. That way, any truly viable candidate for admission, or currently admitted student, or ex-student with children currently attending, won’t get the wrong impression about the athletic program.

Pierrechn’s next course of action will certainly be a testament as to whether he has a modicum of integrity and character, or is merely a sociopathic individual craving attention. His next move should be quite telling.

I’m upset I missed out on this… pierrechn, you always make me laugh and for that, I thank you.

@sundoll, I admire you for continuing your studies. It’s a shame some people feel like that’s something to be ashamed about.

No shame, a poster of this board ragged on me because they thought i was a 24 College Freshman… they were a parent also…

txex86, I think we got our answer. No surprise.

pierrechn, so your public profile is wrong?
