Which one would you choose and why? (Money is not a consideration).
Thank you!

Please help me decide!!!

I’m not terribly informed about UVA at all, but coming from a current high school senior (who has to make my own hard choice right now!), I would choose Plan II because of the chance to just learn to learn, to be in philosophy, to be in World Lit, to know everything and anything with the added benefit of being at UT! I think, really, you can’t go wrong with either program. Though quickly glancing at Echols, it seems to be a more freewheeling than Plan II (which have a core program that you have to follow, though with some flexibility).

I think if money’s not a problem, just go with what feels like home when you visit. Each school has a distinct feel (down and dirty in Tejas compared to the much more manicured UVA campus). UT has huge school spirit and an awesome football team and do you live in TX right now, will you get the chance to visit your family? Will you have familiar friends that can go to at UT and you can visit when you want to? At this point, the college choice should come down to the nitpick-y things that make your future the absolute fit.

Hope that helps!

It helps me! My DD is trying to decide between those two choices as well. Thanks, WakeUp!

"UVA…

It is at the top of all rankings. The campus is stunning. The reputation is second to none. Outside of the state of texas, A UVA degree carries far more weight. It is a true Ivy of Public.
I know that Plan II is an impressive, hard to get into program. I take nothing away from the program. I feel that outside of the region, the Plan II does not outrank a UVA degree.

Just my opinion

curiousmother: I told you your daughter would get into UVA! Congrats! Go to UVA!
