How quickly does SRD fill up once they send out contracts? I was told I should just drive down that day (I live 3 hours away) and hand deliver it to insure my spot.

@utlonghorngirl SRD fills up within a week or two after they send out contracts. You can send your contract by overnight mail or regular mail and still get a room. I personally know a girl who was #55 on the SRD waitlist and got in for this year. Many girls send in their contract before they know if they’re admitted to UT, so spots open up when those students choose to attend other universities. There’s no need to drive to SRD with your contract.
I agree with FloMoMom. We overnighted our contract for this 2015-16 year and had no issues. One item to note - the contracts are emailed to those girls who have submit their deposit - BUT - this past year, the contacts were released about a week and a half before the huge wave of acceptances went out (those who weren’t in top 7% - but extremely close - or they had been accepted, but not informed of their major yet). That kept many from sending in their contract immediately. My daughter’s friend ended up on the waiting list because of that - but shortly afterward received the “you have 48 hours to accept your SRD spot” email.
