Hello, everyone. I was rejected today for CNS bio. 4.0 with 37 hours, 2 LOR, &many ECs. I’m starting this thread early to have a resource for people to communicate regarding admissions. As for myself, I don’t know if I’ll continue my education, but please feel free to post on this thread.
@STCTEXAS did you have help from Kevin on the application process?
Don’t give up hope!! @STCTEXAS I’m right there with you! I was rejected for CoLA yesterday (Poor GPA), 36 hours, 1 LOR, great essays, tons of ECs. Hoping for a better outcome this time! Hook em! ??
@radiodylan what was your GPA?
It was a 2.85, I had extenuating circumstances with my family that caused me to struggle academically, and it unfortunately also affects spring for me, now I’m in total recovery mode to apply for Spring 2020
@radiodylan yeah they automatically reject you if you have below a 3.0
@holtym I had i feeing that might be the case. I knew I wasn’t going to be accepted but I wanted to get a better understanding of the process, I’m in the process of fixing my gpa to reapply for the spring 2020 semester
Are the chances of getting in for the spring semester any better? Cockrell only accepted 3.90 GPAs and above and I had a 3.8
@AEtransfer a 3.8 would be a longshot considering how competitive Cockrell it but it won’t hurt to apply. maybe try to take a few summer classes to bring your GPA up.
@AEtransfer I hear that it is not necessarily easier, but there is much less competition for spots
Hey peeps, I also got rejected due to my GPA. I am appealing and deferring for spring semester. I am already retaking stats and should be finished with it by Sunday. I am also planning to retake world literature and getting back into french.
Hey guys, I a student from Blinn CC planning to transfer to the COLA in the spring. I was wondering if the grades I made in some dual credit courses in high school, will affect my transfer GPA that will be considered for admission? The reason I ask is because my gpa at Blinn is a 3.9 after two semesters, whereas when combined with the grades of the dual credit courses it is brought down to a 3.4. I made one B and two C’s in those courses.
Hi Everyone I’m a incoming sophomore at ACC
finished my first year in JSU with a 3.19 gpa with 32 hours
Applying for spring 2020 International and global relations
Currently, I turned in
2 essays
2 LOR
JSU transcript and they didn’t ask for my ACC
What do you guys think of my chances?
also on mystatus, it says my applicaiton is complete and We have all the items we need to complete your application. Check this page often for an update on the status of your application.
Do i just wait now?
@tcho07
I am also applying for spring 2020 in the same major, we have very similar stats. I’d say you have a good chance try and raise you GPA while you’re at ACC.
Nice! I’ve only met one other person with the same major. what are you stats? Also, from what UT told me my ACC gpa wouldn’t really matter at least for this spring. They said don’t even send my ACC transcripts
@tcho07
As of September I will have a 3.2, I had to retake some classes this past summer.
2 essays (planning to write another one)
1 college vitea
3 LOR
So I was told this my ut admission, “We will be able to view all of your courses listed on your transcript. However, we will calculate our own GPA for you based on what is transferable.”
Is there any way I can find out myself on what my gpa would be for my credits that would transfer? I thought this whole time they just see the gpa thats on my transcript
@tcho07 I’ve never heard of them doing that. Maybe they reconfigure the GPA once you gain admission and that becomes your new GPA. I have always heard they just use the GPA on your transcript.
edit* i meant a 3.719
