UT Starting to review apps

Thats whar it says on my account....

Where did you read this? On the status page? What did it say, my s's hasn't changed.

From status page:

We've received all the items that are required to review and process your application. The Admissions Committee is currently reviewing your application for admission. Once we reach a decision you'll be notified by mail and your decision will be posted on this page.

Because you're a leading applicant, we have good news about your admission to The University of Texas at Austin. Your excellent record allows us to guarantee your admission to UT Austin so that you can begin making plans for your enrollment. Learn more about your admission and find out what to do next to begin your Longhorn experience.

I can't wait until the status changes on my s's page. His still says that they have recieved everything but not that they are reviewing. He is an auto admit, so we have no reason to worry, but it will be nice just seeing it in writing and knowing that we are DONE!

I am also trying to get into BHP. That's why it says they are reviewing it...i think.

So is my s. He got his app in (complete) mid October. I wonder if they are going by when they were complete, or just randomly?

I had my app complete by october (including the BHP stuff). I heard that the BHP staff would start looking at application after the deadline. I want to know how interviews are given out, since it says only certain people get interviews.

Is it true that all out of state applicants have to wait until like March before we find out if we are admitted?

Bleh, i've had mine done since mid september and nothing is different on the status page.

anyone else see this on their status page?

marchballer, I don't know the definitive answer to that, but I would assume you would have to wait due to the 10% rule. If the class fills up with instate top 10% kids, there will be little room for oos. I'm not sure what the percentage of oos and non top 10% was last year, but I'll bet it is shrinking every year.

Has anyones status page changed yet? Click on "View your complete status check and additional messages"

S's status page has changed to say they are reviewing his application.

to the people whose status has changed, when did you apply and for what major?

I had my app complete 9/20. I want to do business. I applied to the BHP program and my app for that was complete 10/1 (since it required additional stuff).

That's just some b.s. they tell you to think they are looking at yours. Mine says the same exact thing, they aren't reviewing apps yet.

mine says it now, but it does not say the part about being a "leading applicant." only the first paragraph.

They say that if you are in the top 10% from texas.

i am. 10 char

aarosurf: You should investigate that.

gstein: why whould they say that if they were not actually reveiwing anything? The deadline is not even here and they could have just left are status page as it was if they were not starting to reveiw applications.
