Does this mean that I am basically rejected? I got automatically into the university because of the top 8% rule, but I still haven't heard back from Cockrell. I applied November 8th and its been nearly 6 weeks now with still no acceptance... Have I essentially been rejected by Cockrell? I applied to MechE and am top 8% with a 31 ACT (35 M 32 E) and have a 5 on ap calc ab and a 4 on ap chem.

If you have not gotten a rejection letter, then no, you have not been rejected.

Sorry to say, but Auto Accept into Cockrell is top 5%. But your stats aren’t bad… To get into UT auto is 8% but certain schools like Cockrell and McCombs have different requirements, Cockrell being 5 percent and Mccombs 3 percent auto acceptance.

My daughter is waiting to hear from Cockerell as well. Her letter from UT states she’s an auto-admit to UT, but it will be February before she’ll find out whether she’s been accepted to Cockerell.

i applied back in september and my application is still being reviewed…i thought UT was rolling!

runninglover…it’s only rolling for auto admits (top 8%). Even at that, you might not find out what major you are accepted into unti later. Those under holistic review will not find out if they have been accepted until late February.

I guess that Feb timeline also applicable to OOS students?

man, i really just want ut to tell me… i kinda wish i had applied earlier now. a friend of mine who applied a month before me and is in the same percentile as me heard back in 2 weeks… oh well, guess all i can do is wait.
