UT Store is more expensive than Wal-Mart

<p>I guess student discounts apply only to select software? Not sure, but the exact same model laptop is 140+ dollars more expensive on UT's website than Wal-Mart's website. Really, what is up with that?</p>

<p>The discounts for software fall under the Microsoft Campus Agreement. Since Microsoft does not produce consumer computing platforms, the price of any laptop offered by the campus computer store would not show any discount as a result of this agreement. </p>

<p>If you are an EE however, UT ECE does have an agreement with HP where you can get discounted laptops:</p>

<p>I do not know if this program includes other departments in engineering.</p>
