<p>I just got an email from UT inviting me and my family to austin for a saturday.
UT</a> VIP | Meet Us | Be a Longhorn
"Hi -----</p>

<p>We're planning a special invitation-only event -- UT VIP -- on campus on Saturday, March 5, 2011, for select admitted students and their families.</p>

<p>An invitation and additional information will be mailed to your permanent address the week of February 14, but I want to let you know about UT VIP now so you can put this event on your calendar"</p>

<p>Does anyone know what this is? Like who all is invited? I went to their website UT</a> VIP | Meet Us | Be a Longhorn and it didn't say who all gets invited. But the opportunites listed seemed pretty cool.</p>

<p>My daughter got this email also. Not sure what the weekend holds, but it should be interesting.</p>

<p>Yeah i was wondering what would qualify someone as select. But it does seem like a good opportunity to visit austin!</p>

<p>I went! I have no idea what made me eligible to be invited, but it was really great to see UT with my parents before I had to decide on a school.</p>

<p>Is this only for instate kids? Cause most OSS kids haven’t heard back from admissions yet.</p>

<p>It also says invites are sent out the week of the 14th so maybe some OSS kids will get admitted this week.</p>

<p>There is Explore UT which is going on the same day as UT VIP. Computer Science is also inviting some of their admitted students to “Digitizing your Future” that same day. Looks like a great opportunity to get a feel for UT.</p>

yeah, it’s sponsored by the women in engineering program</p>

<p>and i got an e-mail from them with a schedule of events. it’s from 11:00 – 11:40 a.m, location: CPE 2.208-not sure where that is though.</p>
