Hey guys I was wondering if you can give me some pros and cons for each school. I hope to have a good time, have a good GPA and go into a top law school.

i dont know much about academics but i can give you some info on the campuses.

I'm assuming GW = George Washington University in DC

GW is in the middle of Washington DC, not much of campus, and off-campus housing is expensive since northwest and most of DC is too pricey.

since i grew up outside of DC, my perception of it is different from someone who hasnt been there (im assuming you havent lived there). a lot of people love the fact there's a lot to do in DC like go to museums, Georgetown, etc.

UT is in the middle of another city, has a campus, and off-campus isnt so expensive.

sorry, that's all i have...

You can get into a top law school from either of those schools. What will matter most are your GPA and LSAT score. As I said in another thread, undergraduate institution doesn't matter so much for grad school admissions. I'm going to NYU Law in the fall from UT, and I know plenty of others from state schools who got into even better schools than that.

Go wherever is going to be least expensive. Law school is soooo much money, and top law schools are stingy with grant money. Don't go into law school already in debt if you can avoid it.

UT Senior, if you don't mind where there any negatives to applying to law school from UT. Like was there a lot of competition, classes were tough, etc.

Additionally, how tough did you feel the classes were and how hard is it to maintain a good GPA.

I feel it's very easy to maintain a good GPA at UT. I don't know how it compares to GW in that regard. In most classes at UT, I was able to get an A simply by showing up and completing the assignments. UT is not competitive at all, I wouldn't say, since students aren't ranked or curved (not sure if that's the case at all undergrads).
