Ut

Does anyone here know how hard, in terms of college and grades, UT at Austin or Texas A&M are?

Fewer than 3% of their student bodies are out-of-state. Are you a resident of Texas?

I am a resident, but my concern is if the workload is easy?

no.. work load is insane. really. insane and half of all students get C's and D's

Are you kidding?

Beramod is quite right. Most public universities have a 20-30-40-10 grading scheme. 20% get As, 30% get Bs, 40% get Cs and 10% fail. I know Michigan works that way. That's why 3.5 students can get into most top 7 or 8 MBA programs, 3.7 students can get into most top 5 or 6 Engineering programs, top 8 or 9 Medical schools or top 6 or 7 Law schools.

What are you taking about Alexandre?...Michigan does not work on that scheme at all...it completely depends on the professors (both my parents teach at U of M)...I do know that the average GPA at Michigan at LSA is a 3.1 (its harder in the sciences but around a 2.5 in the eng school)...

That is correct Safiamilke, each professor at Michigan has his or her own grading scheme. But the 20-30-40-10 scheme, although not official or mendated, is very popular at Michigan. Most professors I had graded on that curve.

I really dont like those types of curves (bell curves?). Then again, I like regular curves, but I know that isn't fair really either.
