i’m going to be confirming my cap offer for ut arlington soon. i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or advice about uta. im planning on taking biol1441, math 1308, chem1441, biol or heed1301, and psych1315 (courses recommended for nursing transfers). does anyone know how difficult it is to get As in these classes? if not, that’s ok any other info about cap would be much appreciated
@mich17carat From what my friends tell me, approximately a third of UTA’s CAP students end up transferring. Math and sciences (biology, chemistry, physics) courses at UTA are usually the most challenging and many CAP students get Cs in those classes but it ultimately depends on the professor you have … the foreign teachers are harder than the american ones. Also you have CAP students (one of my friends) who end up feeling at home at UTA and had second thoughts of being in a super competitive UT environment … UTA has a more laid back vibe generally speaking. UTA is a hidden gem and those who are a bit more open-minded and do their research will definitely see that.
@NuScholar Thank you so much for letting me know!
@mich17carat Hi! I’m attending UTA for CAP this fall as well to transfer to UT for nursing too hopefully. I’m a bit curious about the college and how it will be for CAP students. Hopefully I can come across more posts like this.
p.s. does your username happen to be related to pledis seventeen by any chance?
@binwoos Hey! That’s really cool that your planning on transferring as well I haven’t really met anyone else that is doing CAP for UT nursing so I’m glad that you reached out to me. Maybe we will meet each other next year!
And yes, my username is from seventeen lol
@mich17carat Maybe we will, haha. Also, have you started your registration process by any chance? I’m confused about the process to be honest. Do you mind if I PM you with a question?
@binwoos By registration process do you mean housing, orientation, etc.? and yeah sure you can message me! Also, do you want to join the CAP groupme?
Hi. Just posted info to set up groupme for CAP admits going to UTA not realizing one had been set up. How can I join?
I’m going to be a CAP student at UTA next fall and am taking BIOL 1441, PSYC 1315, SOCI 1311, ENGL 1301, and MATH 1308. As long as your professors are decent you’ll do fine and make the required 3.2 GPA. Check UTA’s professor profiles and ratemyprofessor when scheduling your classes!
I will be attending UTA this fall for nursing and planning to do external transfer to UT austin. I was wondering how your experience was?
