Hi everyone,
I am senior high school student at Austin, I am confusing where I will go for Freshmen year UTA, UTD, and my major is Chemical Engineering. My plan is after the freshmen year I will transfer back to UT Austin. I applied for the CAP program for UTA also because they give me a scholarship. However look at the rank on the internet UTD was really better. But I am not sure that UT Austin will accept without the CAP program.
I also confused because the CAP not guaranteed 100% accept for engineering field, it’s just better with the CAP. so should I go to UTA? or UTD
May someone give me an advise, please?
You will likely not get into UT engineering as a transfer if you did not get in as a direct applicant. CAP only offers you direct admission to the college of liberal arts, if you satisfy the requirements. You also would not merely transfer back to Austin, you would apply to transfer and wait to be offered or declined admission.
UTA or UTD are both great options and you could begin the program at either, and continue on if declined UT Transfer.
UT Dallas is smaller enrollment than UTA and is in a much smaller town of Richardson, with 99K people and Arlington is just under 400K. Arlington is 20 minutes to downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas. Richardson is 20 minutes NE of downtown Dallas. Rank between 91 and 105 are not that far apart. IN US News, UTA is ranked same as Purdue. A visit to either would be your best option. See what is a better fit for you.
