^ That’s okay, I’m a late night person and sorta groggy in the morning when all the Big Ten games are being played…slooooow plays don’t help as much as coffee. ;)

equal income distribution is lame, WSU is getting the same cut as USC?

^ Equal income distribution will help make the conference more competitive (ie enhance “smaller market” teams ability to win). Do you want an NFL model or a MLB model? I prefer the NFL model.

Lord, they’re going to establish a Pac-12 football championship game? Oh no. John McKay is spinning in his grave, as is Tommy Prothro. Don James just choked on his moring coffee. And why do we have to abandon the brand “Pac-10?” It seems to be working for Big Ten (+2).

I’ll root for my Pac 10 (+2) homies, but alas my guess is that the new Pac 12 is going to end up with unsold seats at the championship game and with buyer’s remose, just like the ACC after its expansion. History could be our unfortunate example. The first Pac-10 basketball tournaments in the 1980s flew like a lead balloon and died until recently resurrected. That being said, the best asset for the new league and a championship game are the venues; think So. California and Phoenix in November. That’s what may draw pacific northwest fans to the game. I guess this means that there will fewer bye-weeks for conference members, if they want to draw students and alumni fans to the game during Thanksgiving Week.

As a footnote to nothing, we just returned from a week in Park City and visited the University of Utah. Locally it is known as U or UU. We were very impressed especially with the huge medical complex they have. I’m guessing that Sen. Hatch has been very good to them. There are not too many, if any, architecturally significant buildings, no one is going to confuse it with Princeton, but all in all a very attractive campus. We were told that there was a lot of spring rain leaving the campus incredibly green. It is located above Salt Lake City’s downtown and right below the mountains, which makes for some very nice vistas. The campus is huge with lots of space between the buildings. We first drove around on our own, and then parked the car at the student union and took a free bus around the campus. The driver pointed out highlights to us. There are some great views from the second and third floors of the union.

Well, look on the bright side, at least my Buckeyes will enjoy playing the game at the newly renovated Cal stadium!! lol

P.S. Unlike tOSU, I don’t think Cal Bears Athletic Dept. expense is independent from the school’s overall budget?!

So are my Wildcats. :)

Cal has a pretty tough OOC schedule.

Old news that just happens to be now picked up by some SF reporter.
They went back to the drawing board and are looking at ways to generate more revenue. One way to start that is a successful BEAR RAID kickoff campaign, humiliating the Mildcats and Bucknuts.
