Hey everyone. So I tried searching to see if there was a forum for 2014 UTD AES scholarships, but didn't find one so I decided to make my own! If you get a letter for one of the three I'd love to here which (Distinction, Achievement, or Honors) and maybe your stats (Sat score, rank, GPA ect) if you wish to share that is. This can just be a place where us terrified seniors can check to see our chances at paying for education

I’ve been waiting to see if I’ve gotten one, and nothing has come in…which is worrying me because they said they’d start reviewing in December when I went to their Scholar’s Day in November.
If I get one, I’ll definitely update you on here.
My Stats:
SAT: 1230 CR + Math
Rank: 46th out of class size 480 when I sent in my application
GPA: 3.7 unweighted.

@gxmmibxxr I emailed them a couple days ago about this, and I got a reply saying, “We hope to award students before our winter break which begins on Monday, December 22nd.”

I’m guessing we’ll all be notified Friday, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed :)

Btw, my stats:
SAT: 1590 CR + Math
ACT: 34
GPA: 4.71/5.00 UW
School does not rank

I hope we find out soon.

My stats:
SAT: 1410 CR+Math
ACT: 35
GPA: 4.0 UW in Texas, 3.82 UW in China
Rank: 2/800 in Texas, No rank in China

Check your Student Center page and look under “View Financial Aid.” I got the Academic Honors Scholarship.

I read the thing wrong, it’s only the Achievement scholarship.

I don’t think I got one because nothing’s on my student center page. :(

@kitkat811 , what are your stats??

@Packrat5000 that’s really weird, especially considering you have a higher ACT score than me… I got the Academic Honors Scholarship.

SAT: 1590 CR + Math
ACT: 34
GPA: 4.71/5.00 UW
School does not rank

It looks like the selection is tougher this year. My son has 32 ACT, 3.6 GPA and no AES emai or update on galaxy.

@4everEpical I’m going to send in my fall 2014 transcript, which pulls my GPA up a little, and send them a resume as well, just in case the one of my application wasn’t enough. It seems really competitive this year, and I think they’re considering ECs more than ACT or SAT scores this year.

I only got the Achievement Scholarship.
SAT: 1340 composite (English and Math)
ACT: 33
GPA: 5.17
School does not rank…
I’m really bummed out because I thought I would get the Honor scholarship.

Welp, I didn’t get one. I’m super bummed too. I thought I had a shot at achievement.

Got honors. Even though my stats aren’t the best.

SAT: 1360 CR+math
ACT: 33
GPA (unweighted): 3.86
Rank: 4 out of 575

Got Distinction Schol. ACT 33, GPA 4.0 Weighted, tons of EC.

Got achievement with ACT 30, 4.12 weighted. Is it possible to retake the ACT for a higher scholarship?

Want to know this as well. Got distinction with 1390 sat, 31 act, no rank. If I retake the tests and score better on them, would I be eligible for reconsideration?

I got the Honors Scholarship.

GPA: 3.94/4.0 UW
ACT: 33
No Rank
I am also a TAMS (Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science) student.

If I apply to UTD and send in my scores and transcripts, they’ll consider me for an AES Scholarship, right? I’m wondering if it’s too late or not. Also, did you guys write the optional essay for UTD?

I really want the Honors Scholarship, so could you guys chance me?

I’m from Arizona, I have a 4.0, and I have a 35 composite on my ACT. I’ll also write an essay if it’ll help my chances.
