Hi everyone, I recently received a new SAT score and was hoping if you guys could chance me for AES? I got accepted into UTD for Computer Science on November 14th.
SAT: 1430 (790 Math, 640 Reading/Writing) with 19/24 essay
4.22 Weighted GPA and Top 14% (my school does not send rankings)
IB Diploma Candidate
Took 6 AP and 7 IB courses
Did all 3 ApplyTexas essays (my IB English teacher told me the essays were “excellent and portrayed myself well”)
Sent 2 recommendation letters (one from 11th grade Pre-AP pre-calculus teacher and another from my AP US History teacher)
Sent an expanded resume (contains many leadership positions of a variety of fields, founded my own school club, many programming projects, multiple awards some even in the state-level and one in the national-level)
If you chance me, I’ll chance you back. Just post a reply on this thread with your stats.
There is a thread on the reddit forum about what scores received what amount. From what I have read, it is quite variable. UTD is definitely taking into consideration more than scores and GPA when deciding an amount. I saw a 34 ACT score get the lower amount and a 31 ACT score get a higher amount. I’m thinking they are considering rank and when you applied as well as ECs and other things when making a decision. Hopefully, you will hear soon - mid January with good news.
Thanks for the information, has anyone else heard back and could you maybe provide your scores?
I was wondering if you coyld help me figure out my chances of getting the scholarship
SAT Score: 1240
Class Rank: 2
Total DC courses taken: 22
Total AP COURSES taken: 7
Weighted GPA: 4.40
UPDATE: I received AES achievement.
@AspiringDoctor32 With that SAT score, you probably won’t get AES. Raise it to a 1410+ or get a 30 on the ACT, and you’ll be fine to get the lowest-tier AES.
