If you are looking for some merit scholarships, look at UT Arlington. They do have a Maverick Scholarship that would be $2000 to $8000/yr. To qualify, you need over a 1100 SAT and be in the top 50% of your class. UTA does have some interesting paths in physics. Check it out.
When do I send and what do I send to colleges after I finish my online application. Isn’t there something like sending documents. I wanna know what the next step is after finishing applytexas and common app
Its been a while for me but from what I remember, you have to have your test scores sent. You also have to have your transcript from your school as well as references sent. At our HS, you had a sheet that had all the info for the schools you wanted to apply to which you gave to your councilor. They arranged to have the transcripts and references sent.
DS20 submitted his apply tx app last week, used free sends for test scores (which are now showing in his portal as complete) and requested transcripts sent from both high school and DE classes. The transcripts took a few days but are now listed as complete.
Each college you apply to will send you login information to track your application. Basically, after you do Apply Texas - you are done with Apply Texas (with the exception of if you are sending an essay later through Apply Texas).
You basically have to establish individual accounts with each school. (Howdy portal for TAMU and Galaxy for UTD). The schools send you a link and temporary password to do this. You track your progress there in terms of what you need to send and what they have received.
Oh ok thanks
I have applied and I am stressing out so much! I got into Texas Tech too
Good! Keep positive thoughts!
Question please. How long it took to get your UTDID, thus you could upload your resume after your Apply TX? Thanks so much!
@JonnyF
Last year - I think my daughter applied on August 5th or 6th
Via email they said they got my daughter’s application on Aug 7 (right after midnight)
She got her UTD-ID later on the 7th - at 2am in an email that said look out for your net ID/username within 48 hours
Also on the 7th - around 8am she got her NET ID/Username.
I believe she was accepted around August 28 or 29th
Its been around 2 weeks since I submitted everything to UTD, I wanted to know what it means if my app status is Undergraduate Committee review.
Thanks!
Don’t panic, this time frame is normal. It means your application is complete and they will be evaluating it. It does seem that it is taking longer this year than in past years to get the admission news. Unfortunately, you just have to be patient now and wait for the news.
If you look at the timeline I posted for my daughter last year - It took a little over 3 weeks. Applied on Aug 5th or 6th and was accepted around the 28th.
I got in guys!! ?
Thank you for your helpful responses
Congrats!
Congratulations! One of my friend’s sons is in the Physics department and really is liking it (He could have gone to Rice or UT-Austin).
