UTD NanoExplorers is a really prestigious summer program that can give you an internship over the school year. I'm really nervous about applying and I was wondering if any past NanoExplorers could give me any advice about making my application shine.

Also, if I don't get accepted, is it possible to still receive an internship by asking a bunch of professors in the nanotechnology institute?

I’m not a past Nanoexplorer (I applied this year), but I have a guess for your second question. If you live by UTD, I don’t see why not. I don’t live in Texas, but I e-mailed university PIs in my area and one in several hundred said yes to me.

Best of luck! Only a few more days before we get results :D

finally acepted!!! :)

Congrats! How’s the program for you? What field are you researching in?

One of my friends got accepted - ill go ask her for you. The acceptance rate is really low though just FYI.
