UTD vs. UT Austin

I've been accepted to UT Dallas, and am waiting for UT Austin. This would be a no-brainer for me if UT Austin had a B.S in Econ, but they do not. UT dallas does though. I figure name recognition of UT Austin may make up for lacking the quantitative background of the B.S but..don't know. That's why I'm askin ;)

So: UTD-B.S econ vs. UT-B.A econ

UT Austin for sure.

Could you explain a bit more as to why it would be better? Is the quantitative focus of the B.S at UTD simply not enough to offset sheer name recognition of UT despite their only having the B.A in econ? And I might go for a master of science (econ) later on, and it seems that having a B.S is always better for that, ergo my indecision.

Nope, the B.S. will not overcome UTA’s name recognition. However, you definitely should use electives on quantitative subjects.
