UTexas at Austin

I had a few questions about my application. First, for the essays, how long should mine approximately be (right now I have about 400 words each)?
Second, what would my chances be? Here are my criterion (Chosen Major - Architectural Engineering or Dual Major-Architecture/Architectural Engineering 6 yrs):
- Live in New Jersey
- GPA: 3.81 (weighted out of 4) (also, my school does not give rank)
- Academic Team Captain
- Forensics and Debate Society Member
- Midfielder for Boys' Lacrosse team
- Indian (Asian)
- Volunteer at a Hospital
- National Honor Society Member
- Marching Band (4 years as a Bass Drummer in Drumline)
- Pit Band for Spring Musical
- Stage Crew Builder for Fall Plays and Spring Musicals
- SAT I:2060 (Math 700, CR 720, Writing 640)
- SAT II: Math2 720, US History 710
- AP Exams: AB Calc 5, Chemistry 4, US History 3
- Senior Schedule: AP Physics, AP English, Statistics, Spanish 5 Honors, Home Ec, Gym

This year in Texas, UT Austin has placed an automatic acceptance to top 8% of a student’s high school. Because they are pressured by so many Texas students wanting to go there, the chances for out of state diminishes a bit. But I’m pretty sure you will be accepted due to the fact that you have above par scores on you SAT, good scores on SAT II and a fairly good GPA. And 400 sounds about right. Good Luck!
