Hello,

I'm looking at transferring to tech this fall semester. I was pursuing a CS degree at UT. However, I was denied from the CS school with a 3.9 GPA. The school proceeded to tell me to wait around and try to internal transfer again next year. I'm a veteran and my benefits will not allow me to "sit around" for a year.

I'm hoping on pursuing a computer engineering degree at Texas Tech. I'm pretty excited, but I've only been to Lubbock once!

How's life in Lubbock? How's the school?

I'm pretty excited and curious!

Have you visited Lubbock or done the transfer day advisement? I’ve been there once and I’ll be back on June 6th for transfer advisement & I’m hoping to get more of a feel for Lubbock. As for TTU itself I loved it when I visited last December. I’m an older (45 years) transfer student, not sure your age, so not sure what you are looking for. Good luck!!

I’m 24, did time in the military first. I’ve been once to actually cheer on the longhorns during a football game. I actually liked he city, everyone was nice even though I was a UT student.

Yeah, that’s what I noticed, everyone seemed really friendly. I might be out of step with most on these forums, but I actually liked all the schools TTU, UT, & TAMU. I just felt at this moment TTU has the most to offer me through their Honors College & financial aid.
