UTSA CAP program or Transfer?

Hello I am currently a senior in high school applying to colleges. Going to the The University of Texas at Austin has been my life long dream but I know it won’t happen because I don’t meet the rank criteria. I will most likely be offered CAP. What I’m wondering is whether I should spend a year in San Antonio and CAP to Austin or attend Texas A&M (if I get in), the University of Houston, or Community College and transfer in the spring, or after completing my first year. But here I have a problem. In high school I took a couple duel credit classes. Focusing on the high school grades and not the college ones I realize I have messed up. My college GPA comes up around a 2.7 with 15 hours of credit. I know that this GPA will transfer into the college I decide to attend and it will affect me greatly. What should I do? Is there anyway I can raise my GPA tremendously (to a 3.6+) so I can transfer to UT Austin? Or should I heavily consider CAP program (30 hours and a 3.2 gpa gets you into UT Austin)?

The only reason I fear the cap program or attending community college for a period of time is because I don’t want to not get a high GPA and get stranded there.
Any help would be great. Thanks.

Also I’m wanting to major in nutrition and go down the pre med route so a high GPA is necessary for me.
