I’ve been reading posts regarding stats from those accepted and rejected for the class of 2020 at top colleges like Columbia, UPenn, MIT, etc. I AM JUST UTTERLY DEFEATED by hearing about people getting rejected who certainly have WAYYYY better grades and more impressive ECs and probably better essays that I do.
My list looks like this:
MIT (EA)
Columbia
UPenn
Cornell
UCB
UCLA
UCSD
UMich (EA)
UIUC (EA)
UMass-Amherst (EA)
Georgia Tech (EA)
Penn State
I’m Asian and international, yet I don’t have impressive stats at all.
I am just really discombobulated right now. ADVICE PLS???
And should I apply to one of the Ivies via ED just to have a better chance?

UMass and Penn State are good picks. UCSC would likely be a safety, UCD and UCSB matches.
Also look into
Case Western Reserve (match)
ASU Barrett (match)
Cal Poly SLO (match)
NCSU (match)
UMD College Park (match)
UMN Twin Cities (match)
UWisconsin (match)
Alfred NY (safety)
Iowa State (safety)
Once you have 3-5 matches and 2 safeties, add as many reaches or super reaches as you can afford.
