Maybe you should move this thread over to the UVA forum, but I just wanted to tell you that I was talking to a mom yesterday and her D was on UVA’s waitlist two years ago. The D just about gave up hope, sent in her deposit to Vanderbilt and then in late June got off the waitlist and into UVA. Good look to you!</p>

<p>My nephew got off UVA’s waitlist two years ago. He sent a letter to Admissions letting them know that the school was definitely his first choice, and I believe he had his school counselor weigh in as well. He kept his hs grades high for his last semester. He finally got his acceptance in July. He’s done very well at UVA and is applying to the Comm School.</p>
<p>Thanks for the advice! I’ll try to ask my counselor to see if she’d like to help me…another question… Do you think it’s a good idea to ask a student who has already been accepted UVA to write a recommendation for me even if she will not withdraw her application?</p>
