UVA 2020 EA Results/Discussion Thread

I’m pretty sure this thread doesn’t exist yet, right?

I applied EA to UVA. OOS so I know that my chances are like zero lol.

OOS acceptance rate is roughly 22-24%. Not terrible. Better than UNC OOS or any of the Ivies

Has anyone tried to research the timing patterns of prior years’ notifications yet?

^She said before doing it herself!

Looks like a long wait:)

2012: 1/20
2013: 1/12
2014: 1/17
2015: 1/23

Think I saw you in the UMich thread, but I also applied EA to UVA!

Second or third week in Jan then it looks like…let’s hope its sooner than later!

Does anyone have a green tick beside their decision box on SIS?? It says to view my decision but then says come back on the 31st Jan…

Saq that green tick. came to understand that it means nothing. doesnt mean you are in. doesnt mean you are out.

The SIS has some quirks that we can’t control. If the only thing left on your to do list is the MY report, stop worrying about your status until notification day.

Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could chance me for an out of state (FL) Early Action candidate, as I know this process is very selective.

You couldn’t put this in a separate thread or even not post it at all? No one here, not even @“Dean J” knows if you can get in. Just apply and see what happens.

No more chances here!

Says on the SIS that my decision has been made. Obviously I can’t “view decision” now…just wondering if anyone else’s decision has been made.

@rp0ch1 Where does it say “decision made”?

@rp0ch1 it says on my DD to view decision but when I click the link it says

Admission decisions are not available at this time. Please check back on January 31, 2016.

The “View Decision” thing is built into the student information system. It’s one of the features we can’t really change. Rest assured, when we are done, I’ll announce the release on the blog, twitter, instagram, and Facebook. You’ll know when the decisions are ready!

Dean J, thanks for the clarification!

Do we find out at midnight or is it just at any point during the day?

The waiting is excruciating! I just want to know if my DD got in or has to wait until March/April to find out from the rest of her apps. This process is so long :((

UVA is the longest lag time between applying and finding out for any of the schools my son applied to but the net effect is that he is significantly more interested in the schools he already got into.
