one more question: sorry. april 1 hysteria.

i got in tech, but i have a feeling i will get waitlisted at UVA. what do you think MY... MY chances are at waitlist. will i be at the top of the waitlist pool? am i going to be on the borderline. i have already started writing Another letter to convey my interest. will my chances be increased.
I'm sorry for annoying you guys if you think i am wasting my time here.

Go relax and take a break. lol

I don't think waitlist pools have ranks, but the chances for UVA waitlist last year was 7%, I've heard (not sure tho).

Okay, I'll help you while away the empty hours.
Tech: 90% Chance you're in.
UVA: 65% Chance you are accepted.
Tech is a simple threshold of SAT and GPA. Essays, etc. don't count. That threshold changes from year to year, but I don't think it will affect you.

UVA is a tough read. Were the 5 ap's the most you could take? How much vounteering, how deeply committed, etc.?

And, I have to say, a school where a 4.4 GPA does not place you in the top 10% is a strange place, indeed.

But, the overwhelming factor in your favor is your state of residence. I think that will carry you from our capitol to Charlottesville.

Does that help?

RB

PS (Edit) Whoops. I just noticed you were accepted to Tech. Congratulations. Regardless of the UVA decision, I know lots of folks who are happy with Tech.

yea i have a really competetive high school.

volunteering= 100 hours at a nursing home. for 4 years.. almost each weekend. i was deferred ED Though
no i could have taken more than 5 AP's. but its considered more than average in my school
