You’re a high school senior? Are you taking a gap year? Why haven’t you applied already? You don’t say if you’re in state or out of state or what your major will be/what school at UVa you’ll apply to. Also, how long have you been involved with your activities? All of those factors make a huge difference at UVa as I understand it. It’s always a gamble at any highly selective school, but it appears you have the foundation of what they’d look for, but maybe you can provide more info for better feedback.
@seniormom2021 Oh no, haha, I’ve already applied; I’m just awaiting what my decision is. The activities minus community service I’ve been involved in since my junior year (due to a family issue, I couldn’t due anything outside of school my freshman and sophomore year, which I highlight in my essay). I’m out of state, and I’m planning on majoring in computer science there. Oh yeah, I also did a few science fairs, in which I went to the state level and got a superior rating.
I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t get a definite “yes” yet. You might have read that they had a record number of applications – up 13% overall – and that the majority of those applications came from out of state, the very pool from which they only accept just over 20%.
