<p>I was just hoping to get an idea of my chances at UVa, and comments will be appreciated! And I am an out of state student, by the way.</p>

<p>ACT: 33 Composite 34E 32M (35 if I superscore) 31R 33S
SAT: 2150 Composite 710CR 720M 720W 10E
PSAT: 215. NMSF and likely NMF.
GPA: 3.9UW 4.3W
Rank: 2/6 (small school)</p>

<p>Activities
-Founder of an after school writers and math workshop at my school.
-Started branch of a nonprofit in my city.
-Member of the Louisiana Legislative Youth Advisory Council.
-On Mayor's Youth Advisory Council in my city. Treasurer Junior year and Senior Adviser
Senior year.
-3 years of work at a cafe. I'm a Junior manager, and I am assistant director of marketing.
-Founding member of Louisiana Youth Leadership Initiative
-Student director of fundraising at my school
-4 years Student Council member. Treasurer Junior year, and VP Senior year.
-3 years of Beta Club. President Senior year.
-4 years volunteering at my church. A total of approximately 200 hours.
There are a couple other things I could write about, but the Common App limits me to 10 activities, and these are probably my stronger activities.</p>

<p>My essay will not be the best essay. I'm a fairly good writer, but I'm by no means the best.</p>

<p>Letters of recommendation will speak very highly of me.</p>

<p>Haha, it’s a super small private school! I liked it a lot because I got to know all of my teachers very well, and it was a very hands-on education experience. However, there were definitely some drawbacks, such as not having AP classes and only having a few clubs at my school. Plus being 2nd in a class of 6 sounds kind of bad! </p>

<p>If you have questions specific to UVa (departments, student life, etc.) there are plenty of alumni, current students, and parents that are on the forum regularly and happy to answer any questions you might have. :)</p>

<p>My son wants to go to UVA ! It’s his first choice!he is OOS though! :frowning:

Weighted greater but school only goes to 4.33 so prob around a 4.2
President of NHS for his senior year
Student council rep x 3 yrs (don’t know about sr year yet?)
Many many clubs
Soccer
Volunteers hours and tutors special needs 16yo boy…
NAtional Merit commended (won’t know if finalist till fall)
Sat-2290 m-720 cr-790 w-780 ( only took once and doesn’t want yo take again!
Multiple AP’s (will have 9 when he graduates)
5 on APUSH but no other results yet…</p>
