UVA is my dream school, wondering if I could get in:
Unweighted GPA: 3.4
Weighted GPA: 3.8
class rank: Not sure
SAT score: 2100
Brother went to UVA
I live in Northern VA
Volunteered at a local hospital and Air & Space Museum for 2 years
Played and coached basketball in local league
DECA officer, placed at Nationals last year, won many awards
President of my schools Global Finance Club & Feed The Homeless Club
Essay is decent, still working on it
My junior year was stellar, all As, and took 4 AP classes:
AP Micro/Macroeconomics Grade: A AP Score: 5 and 5
AP Calculus AB Grade: A AP Score: 5
AP US History Grade: A AP Score 5
AP Chemistry Grade A AP Score: 4
Senior year APs:
AP Calculus BC
AP Physics C
AP US/Comparative Gov
AP Computer Science
AP Statistics
My GPA wasn’t that good at all before junior year, I was slacking off a lot, not a good excuse at all, but I really did turn it around, and my course load is pretty good in my opinion. Even now it’s still below average for UVA, but do you think they will reward me for my turn around? I’m aware my SAT score is pretty good. I don’t feel like I’m not bright, but I feel like everyone else’s consistent GPA and ECs will outshine mine. My area is quite competitive, so I’m not sure if will get in.
Thanks for reading, any feedback? And any suggestions on whether to apply early action maybe?
UW GPA is a tad low for UVA but SAT is good and legacy helps, apply EA for most advantage.
UVA EA- high match

early action is non binding at uva, right? if so, apply early. with state schools, the earlier, the better. i think you have a good shot at getting in.
Very good shot at getting in. I’d say its a match. Apply early action to increase chances and especially since its your dream school.
