I'll talk to you about it on IM, but for everyone else's curiosity:

-walked around almost the entire campus, being given a tour not only the official way, but through two people i met who were really nice to me (1st and second year)

-visited Admissions office, spoke to Parke Muth, the guy who read my application

-slept over a friend's house off-campus near Hereford, went to a party at his house Thursday night

-Took Alderman dorm tour, saw the Lawn, visited the Aquatic/Fitness Center, Stadium, McCormick, Hereford, Brown college (its nice!), O-Hill Dining Hall, Newcomb Hall (ate there) , Chem Building (ugly building)

-I ate the food ----its ehh....ill get used to it....too junky for me (lots of pizza, pasta, taco bell stuff)

-Charlottesville is so nice and petite, clean and full of culture

-The weather is very nice...it was so sunny and hot on Thursday

-Looked through the Hillel center, and other centers

-Went to a Contemporary Political Theory class taught my TA John Baltes

-Visited Alderman and Clemons library, amazing both

I had a BLAST! Cant wait to come again during orientation on July 6.

yea, man, you know you made a good decision.:)

as an official wahoo, always remember this (you might not know it since you are not from Virginia): Virginia Tech sucks.

^ agreed :)

I have something to add about the way people dress on grounds.

Yes, they do dress up to go to class and the library, especially the sorority girls who basically dress all the same. Today, Sunday, I got up in my t-shirt and pyjamas pants and walked into the library. People were staring at me like "*** are you wearing" look. But screw them lol, these people are just funny.

Another time when my friend Sara was wearing long boots and some funky outfit like lots NYers wear, everyone was just staring at her. People here are narrow-minded sometimes.

Yea, people are real narrow-minded. Way to stereotype your peers as shallow, judgemental twits.

when i visited i didn't think they (the people i saw, in general) were too much like that. I mean i saw a fair bit of people dressed really nicely and stuff but i think i saw more people just dressed "normally", and as far as the "nicely" dressed people went they seemed approachable and nice enough. not caring what someone dresses like includes the ones who wear the fanciest of things, right? I don't know, but the impression i got was that it wasn't so bad ;)

I didn't say they were judgmental. I just said they were shocked to see people either in pyjamas or some overdressed outfit. And it's fact that some students here, or dare I say my peers, are ignorant and narrow-minded. Why should I be afraid to speak the truth? It happens everywhere in any college.

One admitted student also asked me, "So where are the popped collars?" lol. And I just told her that it has kind of died down due to the criticisms. Now the girls are more in "fashion" with pearl necklaces and earrings and those granny-looking handbags, whereas the boys wear striped/polo shirt with their baseball caps backwards and put on nantucket shorts.

tenniscraze, have no fear ;) lol. you're right, there are all kinds of people everywhere you go...those handbags and pearls do astonishingly remind me of my grandmothers!

hahaha. It's amazing how sororities can standardize girls very easily. They all pretty much talk the same in this kind of low-toned, arrogant manner of speaking.

This one girl that I know, whom I talked to a few times, used to have a bubbly, high-pitched and funny tone when speaking. Now that she's pledged tri-sig (Sigma Sigma Sigma), she has totally changed. From the way she dresses to the way she talks, it's really sad to see she wasn't the same anymore. Just yesterday, I heard her speak in this very low and deep voice that virtually all sorority girls (excluding service co-ed frats) share. And I could have sworn I thought she caught a cold or something. IMO, it was very pretentious.

-visited Admissions office, spoke to Parke Muth, the guy who read my application
*That guy rocks my socks. He's probably the most friendly dean in the office.

-slept over a friend's house off-campus near Hereford, went to a party at his house Thursday night.
*Hehe, I hope hereford was great to you. Don't worry, you'll experience it once again during the summer orientation.

-Took Alderman dorm tour, saw the Lawn, visited the Aquatic/Fitness Center, Stadium, McCormick, Hereford, Brown college (its nice!), O-Hill Dining Hall, Newcomb Hall (ate there) , Chem Building (ugly building)
*Yay for brown. O-hill is better than Newcomb. Chem is indeed ugly and sketch.

-I ate the food ----its ehh....ill get used to it....too junky for me (lots of pizza, pasta, taco bell stuff)
*"Learn to love the food" is the motto.

-Charlottesville is so nice and petite, clean and full of culture
*Hmm, not entirely cultural. I don't see anything that's really cultural except historical.

-The weather is very nice...it was so sunny and hot on Thursday
*Here comes the summer. Warm, hot, nice weather. The trees look really good too.

-Went to a Contemporary Political Theory class taught my TA John Baltes
*If you came on Monday or Wednesday, you should've sat in ANTH225.

-Visited Alderman and Clemons library, amazing both
*Love clemons - it's like my second home here.

I had a BLAST! Cant wait to come again during orientation on July 6.
*I am glad you did.
