•Strengths: not sure.
•Weaknesses: haven’t taken calc yet - I’m going to take it this summer. Scores could’ve been better.

•Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted - UofMiami (merit scholarship), UF, Georgia Tech (merit scholarship), UMich CoE. Waitlisted - NU, UVa. Rejected - MIT (deferred from EA).</p>

<p>General Comments: I really liked UVa. Oh well, we’ll see what happens. Congrats to all of those accepted! You deserve it :)</p>

Extracurriculars: Speech and debate (3 years-captain), varsity tennis (4 years), NHS, Varsity swim (2 years), slam poetry team (2 years), drama/theater (3 years-secretary/historian), local talent shows and plays
Job/Work Experience: Lifeguard at local spa, hostess/busser/dishwasher, community service with peer mentorship programs.
Teacher Recs: 2 of the best teachers in my school did my recs, my english 3 h teacher who has been at our school for decades and calc teacher who graduated from Oxford in physics.
Counselor Rec: No idea. New counselor who I’ve only had for 2 years.
Essay: My common app essay seemed a bit cliché to me personally but everyone who read it said it was amazing. Revised the drafts about 13 times total, pretty personal story of my life about growing up as the only chinese student in a hispanic/mexican community.

General Comments: Fun story, I actually applied to UVA on kind of a whim on January 3rd and my essays were SUPER last minute and I never sent in test scores… Applied cause I got a fee waiver and I had a fun idea for the essay topic.
Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I applied to 17 schools total – Accepted into: Tulane, CW Reserve, DU, Drexel, UCSD, UCI, UNM. Rejected from: UCLA. Waitlisted at: UVA.</p>
