UVA Class of 2022 RD decisions

I don’t see an RD decision thread yet so here it is. Dean J has been quiet on Notes from Peabody but assuming the results will be out in about two weeks, good luck to everyone.

April 1 until I post otherwise on the blog or my social media accounts. :slight_smile:

Thanks for all your communication Dean J! Last year RD released on 3/23, but we saw you posted on the blog that midyear reports were delaying the process… so with that and all the WaHOOps March Madness is it safer to assume that it actually will be 4/1 this year or any hope for hopefully getting good news earlier?

4/1 being a Sunday and all?

@prodesse yea seems weird

Wow this thread is so quiet lol

do you guys have any idea when decisions are supposed to come out?

@bsaun99 Maybe April 1st

Follow @DeanJ. http://uvaapplication.blogspot.com/. Based on previous years, sometime between 3/20 and 3/25 would seem a good guess.

Kinda regretting not applying EA. I didn’t look at the data back in December and thought waiting for 1st semester grades would be good. Well my grades were consistent with previous years and crunching the data on Deanj’s blog, seems chances of admittance are somewhat higher for EA applicants. Ah well, nothing I can do about it now.

@hiddle everyone is watching the basketball game…and they are losing. Yikes, what an upset that would be

NCAA History: #16 UMBC defeats #1 UVA by 20. I hear the brackets breaking!!!

Wow seems like only 5 people applied to UVA so far

Seems like the last few years decisions have come out on a Friday, one year the early decisions came out on a Wednesday because a snow blizzard was coming and Virginia students were going to be home the rest of the week. So, I assume it will be the 23rd or the 30th. Hopefully the 23rd. UVA seems to like to put decisions out on Friday so that students have the weekend to get over their decisions before going back to school.

Admissions are higher for EA applicants but Dean J has said in the past that the EA pool is more competitive so the regular pool may has lower grades/test scores, etc. So, if you are a strong applicant then maybe that is an advantage in the regular pool.

Hopefully 23rd would be the decision day!

@momofthree55 I hope that is true. There are just fewer slots for more applicants this round, and I hadn’t factored that into my thinking. Anyway, probably the outcome, whether yes, no, or waitlist, would have been the same either way. At least that is what I am going to assume if rejected.

Anyone else have a “view decision” link on their portal? I haven’t checked the portal in a while so I don’t know if this has always been here or if it’s new

@ayutrzi Yes, I Do

Where do you guys see the view decision link?

@chicagmind: Log into SIS to get to your Student Center. Click onto the triangle next to Admissions to expand section to see “My Application”.
