UVA Class of 2025 -- Regular Decision

Well the admit rate was quite a bit higher EA than RD so still think it is worth applying EA in case you are not deferred. I have read that since mid year grades are required for admission to RD some of the drop off is due to a decrease in their senior fall grades.

Heard a lot of schools deferred in swaths because they just couldn’t get to them this year, so who knows.

how long is the typical waitlist and do they send those notices out today too

Pretty sure waitlist is 17 percent of RD applicants plus deferred applicants. It should be in your decision letter that you have the opportunity to be placed on the waitlist. You have to accept the waitlist (and quite a few don’t because they have chosen other options or do not want to drag out the decision process for what is a small chance they will get in).

thanks for the information

Correct me if I am wrong, but for what it’s worth, even the corrected numbers don’t add up:

ED Applications: 2937
EA Applications: 28897
RD Applications: 16060
Calculated Total: 47894
“Corrected” reported total from blog: 48011
Discrepancy: 117

ED Offers: 965
EA Offers: 6186
RD Offers: 2628
Calculated Total: 9779
“Corrected” reported total from blog: 9875
Discrepancy: 96

So the 16,060 RD applicants doesn’t include the ED and EA deferred applicants? I thought if you were deferred you are rolled into RD and would be considered RD.

I don’t know how they do it or where that RD number came from. A lot of schools announce the RD number after applications are submitted and then you add the deferral numbers when those come out.

Some applications may have been withdrawn after completion?

Just checked - according to the CD 16,025 was the RD applications received. So you add the deferred number to that.

We don’t do that! We give ourselves a wide runway for notification so we have the time to read our applications!

What time are we thinking for release?

within the next couple hours
 GOOD LUCK EVERYONE

The calculated totals above are LOWER than the blog reported totals, so, no, this discrepancy is not from withdrawn applications.

(@Dean_J, can you clarify the discrepancy?)

same SKLJDHFAKSDF i am so nervous

Happy to hear that. I had heard that was not the case elsewhere this year, sadly.
