Sorry guys, I probably should have posted this under UVa Status.

Katt, yes, that is a good theory. Let's hope it's true.

i applied mid-December

I was thinking the same thing, but my friend who was accepted said she sent her application in ON March 1. :(

Hope we hear something tomorrow...

maybe it's sent out alphabetically???
i dunno my last name starts with an A

There's a thought! Thanks for making us feel better, even for just a short time.

Doesn't make me feel better. My last name starts with an A.

so does mine... DAMN! We will never figure out the methods to UVa's madness! haha

I am so depressed. It's now dark outside and I'm home alone and I didn't hear from UVa...Woe is me.

Chill man, im sure 95% of the applicants don't hear until 5/01. And even if you don't get in who cares? Complaining about it will not do you any good, just try and make the best of whatever situation you are in (I know I will if I get rejected :) ).

Hey man, I'm currently at GMU...I need to get out!! UVa is perfect for me because it has the hospital and offers biomedical engineering.

Don't sweat it, we'll survive.

Yes, and people have survived through wars and come back emotionally damaged (PTSD). I know, that has nothing to do with transferring to college...jeez, picky.

Did you apply anywhere else christophsky? If you really dislike GMU that much, you probably should've. But you have a 4.0, so I think you have a good chance of being accepted. Of course as always, I'll add my warning: I know nothing about college admissions.

Well, I didn't apply to anywhere else because I wasn't even entertaining the thought of transferring until Spring '06 or Fall '06...but then when I visited UVa during my spring break, I realized that if I want a shot at getting in, I have to apply for Fall '05 (the only school in UVa that accepts spring transfers is A&S...I need engineering). So I had to quickly hack through the application and drive it down there because it was already mid-March.

my friend who got in today only AROUND a 3.3-3.4 in high school, and a 4.0 for her first semester at Pace U...I think you have a very good change at getting in

Yeah, it would be a good change if I got in...a VERY good change. But I had a 3.1-3.2 in high school. I think I explained myself pretty well in the "extra comments" essay question. Here is what I wrote:

During high school, nearly all of my attention was focused on music. As a trumpet player, I used to participate in every band and orchestra event (not to mention several competitions) and be selected as principal every time. This kind of hyper-focusing, however, took its toll on my academic performance. Although I was deeply motivated to go to a conservatory such as The Juilliard School (who had already expressed interest in my enrollment), I decided my senior year that a career in music would not be ideal. At George Mason University I was determined to work hard; it did not take long for me to come to appreciate academics and everything it has to offer. After having three minor surgeries a year ago, a new interest in medicine had prompted me to consider transferring to an in-state university with a superb medical school.

Think that will suffice?

Would your friend be the one that got waitlisted at JMU?

With only a 3.5 HS GPA and 3.65 college GPA, I can't hold a candle to you guys getting in with 4.0's.

I really do think that they look at how heavy your courseload has been. Katt, on average, how many credit hours have you taken per semester. My problem is that my semesters have been very light.
