Amber...what are your stats?

Toph,
Even for out of state applicants?

Ok, so I am about to complete my degree from TCC, with 3 associate's. I won't graduate until the Fall though.
I am in Phi Theta Kappa(2-year honor society), and up until last semester held a solid 3.6 my entire time at TCC (started in Fall 2002), but I made my first 'D' in the Fall because I didn't drop out of a class I should have(I'm retaking the class though). I am Student Government President, I have worked for my Dean since 2003 and I am the College-Wide Federation Chair for Student Government. I have other numerous school activities too. I have also held down two other jobs besides the Deans office, one in a tanning bed, and in the school bookstore during rush.

I sucked in highschool though. I was in honors but sports consumed my life and I just messed around. I had mono my senior year and didn't know it until it was too late (meaning my grades suffered a lot) because I would always fall asleep in class. I even fell asleep during my SAT's my second and last time taking them, needless to say my highest score, 1000, boo.

But yeah, I feel like I am a pretty well rounded student, but Tech and UVa may not look to kindly on my highschool stats.

2Tired,

Yeah.. I'm almost postivie that they don't seperate the pool by in-state/out-of-state for transfers because they don't have the in-state quota like they do for freshman admissions.

Darn it...but UVa does, I believe--and I am a Virginian!

intended for Toph

Yeah...your Virginianness is going to help you substantially w/ UVa

What about being from Charlottesville? ;)

some questions about uva:
if i wait a month or so, will it be super-hard to find a 1 br apartment on/near the corner for the school year? is there much of a punk or hardcore scene in/near charlottesville? is there an infoshop in town? or a decent independent music store at least? and are there any 24 hour diners nearby or off-campus coffee shops that let you sit and read for hours?

NO, sorry. none of the above.

just kidding--I have no idea

Go to www.cavalierdaily.com and click on Classifieds.

if you want a nice appt. within walking distance of the grounds, look on Jefferson Park Avenue (JPA)

i'm findin loads of 1 bedrooms and 4 bedrooms on there...i need to find one more roomie so i can getta nice 3 bedroom 3 bath!! grrrrr this is irritating

so anybody else dreading exam week?

This question might be geared more for VA CC students

If you get an AS degree, does UVA guarantee you a certain amount of credits for junior standing? I have all of the core curriculum which will transfers to McIntire, but then a bunch of other courses do not transfer according to the list. So if they go course by course I might end up having only 40 credits. How does that work? I know WM guarantees junior standing and at least 54 credits for VACC transfers with an AS.

Thanks

well i'm pretty sure you'll have junior standing

you might just have to bust up a little bit to complete your graduation requirements

vlmanfredi: There is a plan 9 in c-ville, and there are other pretty cool record stores. They do have some really cool eating spots, like the White Spot and places around that general area. It's nice. They also have really neat head shops.

plus there is ARCH'S FROZEN YOGURT!. Man IF I am admitted, the apartment i am living in is literally going to be a few steps away from Arch's...

don't you mean "'if' I am admitted..."?
