Uva Decisions!!!!

yeah that freaked me out...cuz it changed and i didn't read it and it was like...really short....and iw as like OH ****

Try not to read too much into it. Same thing happened last year. Freaked me out too. I've resigned to wait for the letter, since that will arrive before the website is updated on May 1st.

Who else is getting the same thing, since at least one of us isn't? What's up with that?

I am getting the same thing as you. Who's not getting that screen? And what are they getting instead?

I know, I'm probably trying to read too much into it, but it just seems weird that some of us can see the same "Received" app status and others (myself included) can't.

Maybe it has something to do with the school you are applying to. I applied to the Engineering school. This is what I see:
UVa School of Engineering Application Status Report
Name: XXXX,XXXX
Account: XXXX
Application Fee Received: Yes
Application Fee Date:

Application Status: Received

[note]

I applied as Pre-Commerce (I guess College of A&S), and I still get this screen under application status:

Application Status: Received

Note:
Your application has been received and is being processed. At this time, we are data-entering thousands of transcripts which have been mailed to us. If your transcript has not yet been noted as received, please check your account again during the first week of February. First-year applicants should log back in to submit mid-year or first trimester grades online. Thank you for applying online to the University of Virginia.

i dont sleep anymore because of UVa

i really hope the decision comes this week.

You might be right, christophsky, but if VA_Mike has applied to the A&S like me, I'm not sure why he's not getting the same message I am.

2tired, what school did you apply to? Did you apply anywhere else?

I'm always trying to figure out the "method to the madness", lol. When I received the financial aid e-mail from Tech, I thought it was a good sign, then sure enough I received an acceptance a few days later. Turns out the e-mail was sent on 3/31 and the acceptance letter was dated 4/1. Just always looking for a good sign, but I'm sure the change on the status page means nothing, just wishful thinking on my part. Oh well, good luck everyone! Try to keep your spirits up. We don't have much longer now.

Sometimes I think to myself, "Do I really want to find out that I have been rejected?" That is the way I feel right now.

Does anyone know how many transfer applicants there were this year??

I don't think we'll know until "all is said and done." For now, you can look at previous years' statistics: http://www.web.virginia.edu/iaas/data_catalog/institutional/data_digest/adm_transfer.htm

Has anyone received any kind of fin aid letter? A couple of people in an earlier post said they received something, but nothing here. Maybe they wait and send it out to those who were accepted. Does anyone know?

Fat envelope or thin?

Not that I really care, because I won't even be opening the mail.

2tiredofwaiting, when I spoke with Dean Roberts a few weeks ago he said that 220 people applied for the 40 available transfer spots in the McIntire School of Commerce (18% acceptance rate). I don't know current E-School, A-School, or CAS stats~ Hope this information is useful to other user! We're so close! Remember your undergrad degree really isn't everything!! Everyone I have spoken with said one's graduate work and respective degree is much more important than your undergrad. A side note...To make the time fly, I think about how inferior U Va. really is and how they should be begging for my attendance by throwing scholarships at me. Yeah, it may not be true, more so totally WRONG; but it really balances out these foreboding feelings and gets my mind off of the last week of this month. Peace-

I remember when my girlfriend was accepted into UVA last year for freshmen admissions, her envelope was small, and not very thick. We thought it was a rejection at first...until she opened it

Maybe the rejection envelope is thick with reasons why you didn't make it.

If I'm rejected, I really don't care to know the reason.

ok so i called the admissions office to ask them when they were mailing our letters ( i was hoping the lady would mention something about mailing them in two waves ) but unfortunately...she was like "may 1st" so I guess in like 20 days we'll find out.
