Uva Decisions!!!!

hey Arts & Sciences applicants,

Has anyone called to find out how many applicants there were for the school of Arts & Sciences??

Does somebody want to??

Thanks, 2tired

Just guessing, but probably anywhere from 1600 to 1700 judging from last years numbers. Out of that, I would imagine 600-700 offers are made.

wmrocks, thanks for the info.

They also said last year. I believe that's their official statement. Although, since there was an extention to the deadline this year, I think it may be closer to the truth.

What extension? I thought it was March 1.

I only found out about the extention after my transcripts weren't sent due to a system issue. The extention was due to either weather or system issues. How many knew about it remains to be seen. This could cause the decisions to go out closer to May 1st.

you guys are gonna love me....well not really...look at what i found...i'm sure one of you did already:

<a href="http://www.web.virginia.edu/IAAS/data_catalog/institutional/cds/current/transfers.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.web.virginia.edu/IAAS/data_catalog/institutional/cds/current/transfers.htm</a></p>

go down to D9!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday is Doomsday.

AHHHH WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS?? and HOW?

So, if I am reading this right, they know who did and didn't get in at this point and will still not tell us until 4/15? Ouch! And that "Notification date" appears to be the same as last year and I remember not finding out until 5/1 (however I was rejected).

Oh no....maybe only those who are accepted are notified around 4/15???

I don't know...it's all very strange because if you go to this link....

<a href="http://www.web.virginia.edu/IAAS/data_catalog/institutional/historical/admission/trans_total.htm%5B/url%5D">http://www.web.virginia.edu/IAAS/data_catalog/institutional/historical/admission/trans_total.htm</a></p>

...you will see that the numbers they had for last year (concerning transfer applicants) do not sync up with the numbers from the above mentioned link. BUT THEY ARE FROM THE SAME SITE! Am I reading something wrong?

asbuckeye07, that is quite odd. It seems that someone has made a mistake on one of the two.

To say that friday is doomsday is not quite correct because the decisions won't be posted online until 5/1 and if the past is any indicator, only some people will find out around 4/15.

AND, the application deadline was extended for about a week; so, it's anyone's guess when we will actually find out. This really stinks.

If I don't get in to UVa, then I am stuck in Northern Virginia forever. It wouldn't make much sense to transfer to any other school in VA (due to fiscal reasons, I can only attend in-state schools) for my field. Eh, I'm just bellyaching - pay no attention.

Hey...ANYWHERE in Virginia beats Ohio.

Logically speaking, in order to get a jump on FinAid, and housing/travel issues...etc., it only makes sense to notify accepted students as early as possible.

Hey Stumper,
What does your application status screen say right now?

More worried than ever? YOU BET

I bet a case study on the psychological ramifications applying for college has on students would yield baffling results.

yes...deep down everyone has psychological problems of some sort...it just takes a short waiting period for them to come out
