would anyone reccomend one or another dorm. i know its the whole "whatever fits you" thing or whatever but i would REALLY like it if people could give me some input biased or not. whatever. i just want to know what people who live there or know what its like to live there think of them- would they still choose those dorms, etc. I'm pretty much between Alderman and McCormick. pretty definately anyway. I have a roomie lined up and shes rooting for McCormick but if in some way Alderman is better I think i could convince her. She says she doesn't know either. ANYWAY thanks so much to anyone who can help :)

well i HAD to do another post to pull my total up to 100! sorry :)

hmm...i'm wondering why you posted this on the college life board as opposed to the UVA board, but...

the decision really is a personal one. both living arrangements have their own respective positive and negative attributes. mccormick road housing is slightly closer to classes and has the reputation of being slightly more social than alderman. alderman is closer to the main dining hall for first years (ohill) and offers a large common room in each suite.

haha i didnt even know that there was a UVA one. I'm just not "CC savvy" I suppose. But thank you very much for your help and I will have to look at the UVA thing

and the definitely site. sry ur that into the hole thang. good thang i no how to spel it in reel life i spose. or how else wud i get into coledge? uh oh...somebody do something quick i'm not capitalizing after the period.

lol ;) i like the crazy parent sites too

McCormick: more fratty (more people there are white, more people there drink in dorms/go out to parties a lot, lots of them end of joining fraternities or sororities). a lot of dramas in each hall

ALderman: less fratty, but there're still people who party. more family-oriented........you tend to stick with ur suitemates a lot........more diverse (more students of other races).

Brown: Quirky, artsy and community-oriented

IRC: Lots of international students

Hereford: AVOID AT ALL COST
