How is UVA's engineering program in terms of faculty, facilities, class sizes, quality of classes and job/grad school opportunities upon graduation?

for what its worth,

in general uva engineering students are pretty smart. they generally scored the highest on the SATs versus any other incoming group of freshman at UVa (i.e. say vs. college, nursing, architecture). UVa's engineering department may not offer as many facilities as "powerhouse" engineering schools (like berkley and michigan), or have a super highly rated name in engineering; however, the eschool starting salaries are as good as the very best undergrad eschools in the country. i'd have to find all the websites again, but both UVa and Michigan engineering had average starting salaries of around $58k even though michigan is a "top 5" engineering school and UVa probably floats between 30 and 40.

1 thing to note though is that i would say many UVa engineering grads do end up going into the business world - the most popular engineering program is systems engineering as far as i can tell.

thnx for that input jags
