just thought i'd try to find other UVA transfer-hopefuls out there =)

i'm planning on applying once i figure out my classes for next semester. my grades were surprsingly good this semester (i'm a freshman) so i'm going to give it a shot.

yeah i'm planning on fall '07, now that i have no Cs haha. im planning on E-school, howabout you?

Yeah I was surprised I got about a 3.75 my first semester and I'm at the honors college at AZ State, but i'm still undecided so I'm not sure what school i'm going to enter. I'll probably work on the application over my winter break and see what classes I've done so far compared to the classes recommended for the schools and choose based on that and change my major if I don't like where I'm at at that point. I heard they accept a pretty good percentage of kids who apply as transfers. Is this true?

I am applying to UVA as well!

current college GPA is 3.772 but once I get my physics grade...i will probably go down to 3.65 or 3.7

does UVA want to see your SAT scores too?

Yeah the website says it requires SAT I or ACT scores.

rougly 40% are accepted, which is a little over freshman admissions...last year was 37%, but some years have been close to 50%....they take 2/3 IS and 1/3 OOS, and im a VA resident and i go to Virginia Tech, so im hopin that will help =) lookin at a 3.22 first semester engineering though =/ not stellar, but im hopin mid semester grades will help because now ive figured out study habits/how to basically survive college =P

I have a 3.7 in VCCS, transferring to the CAS.

yes

3.22 in VT-engineering, transferring to E-school

do any of you know if it is more competitive for transfer students applying to the BME major (capped at about 60) than it is for in-school students applying to the major at the same time? I'm BME right now and I want to go to UVA, and I think I can get into the school but I don't know how hard it is even within the school to get into the BME major. Anyone have a clue?

the E-school is capped at about 60-70 acceptees...from there, yes, i would assume that it will be harder for you to try to transfer into the BME major than in-school students because you're a transfer...however, you do not apply to certain departments until you're accepted, so hopefully you'll get into the BME program once you're accepted, otherwise you'll have to decline or chose another major...from what i've heard, the BME program is very small and veryvery selective...
what year are you? school/gpa?

I'm a freshman at Northwestern, college:4.0.gpa, hs: 4.0uw 4.2w, I: 1420/2090, II: 770/740/730. I got into the e-school as a freshman but chose NU over UVA...ended up not really working out.

ps I'm instate.
