UVA Fall 2018 Transfer Thread

may 1… so far

I have a yellow triangle in my UVA SIS account and it says incomplete, but I definitely turned everything in. Does anybody else have this? Maybe they just haven’t matched stuff up yet?

And thank you CTUR782, you as well!

Yah typically all that means is that they haven’t put together all the material yet for your profile. Once they do, it should
show a green circle saying application complete. After that we just wait painstakingly for the last Friday of April, or of course at the latest, May 1st for our decision.

@Lavender111 Just be patient and wait now. I submitted all of my transcripts in early February; didn’t submit my application until the 20. Just yesterday my SIS turned green and is all complete. They just have to get around to updating your profile

My semester finishes a couple weeks before decisions. That will definitely be the most painful time

Hi everybody! What do you guys think my chances are? U.va. is my dream school!

HS GPA: 3.85 UW/4.42 W Top 5%
ACT: 35
College GPA: 3.95 (16 credits), taking another 16 this semester. I’ve taken some of the most difficult classes available at my college. I also have tons of AP credits (like at least 9-10 transferable AP classes)
College: Top 10 LAC
First-gen + in-state
I’m applying for a neuroscience major in CAS!

Extremely low chance. Don’t bother applying

@uvact123 ouch guess I wasted 70 bucks then :frowning: honestly I’m just really stressed out by the whole process and the waiting game and it’s been one day lol

I’m just joking haha. I’d bank on you getting in with my life.

A 35 ACT and 4.4 HS GPA? Along with a 3.95 college GPA? Bro you might as well start looking for a roommate for
next Fall 2018 at UVA. You’re basically guaranteed in other words. If you don’t get in then I know for sure I ain’t getting in along with a majority of people in this thread. Don’t think I even need to say good luck to u since you’re pretty much set. Wish me and everyone else in this thread luck though! :))

Is it just me or do some people post just to brag about their stats? Not saying that is the case here, but I’ve definitely seen it done across this website.

I’m sorry if I came off that way. I definitely know how you feel, especially in freshmen admissions threads. Guess some people just need validation

Yea lol. It’s also a self confidence thing. I was totally not confident about my chances until I got here and was told what the average GPA was and compared my stats to acceptees from last year’s thread. It is indeed a validation thing.

I must say, this is a million times better than those angsty freshman admissions threads. There are a lot less parents here and we’ve all been through the process before so it’s much more chill. This site used to give me anxiety, as silly as it sounds.

Yeah having gone through the process once definitely takes away some of the stress. Plus we know that college isn’t some magical place.

Good luck to everyone!

@TerrierNation frankly I was shocked when I heard that parents do all the college work for their kids. Maybe a kid is not ready for college, if he/she can’t even contact he college etc…

I submitted my application on feb 26th and still haven’t gotten an email to set up my account should I be concerned?

So I took an incomplete this past semester and included a statement about it in my Additional Information section of the Common App. Right before I submitted my application, I added another statement about a qualification that didn’t fit into any other section of the application, and apparently I erased the explanation I had originally written when I pasted it over.

Transcript/grades are a big deal, and I took an incomplete for a medical reason for which I have documentation (and should end up with an A in the class) but preferred not to focus attention on the medical stuff in my essays. The March 1 deadline has now passed, but I don’t know if I should give them a call or email them to explain. I just feel so stupid for not catching it when I reviewed my application - I quadruple-checked it and still missed it.

If it were me I would reach out to them. I also had to lighten my work load several times due to a medical reason I was suffering from, and I put a brief explanation for it down in my application. I think honesty is best, and the fact that you will end up with an A in the class is important for them to know.

Does anyone know when the financial aid stuff is due? Like the CSS profile?
