The admissions process makes people insane. Lie, cheat, steal… Especially ironic for a school with a famous honor code.
Imagine someone told you that they cheated on the admissions process. You worked hard to get in, but they simply cheated. Would you tell anyone?
Except this directly affects honest people like us come decision time. What are you on about?
Agree with @josechaves76. Midterm reports are optional for a reason. You can’t do anything about people who falsify their midterm reports, and you will never know who did and if they got away with it. Literally not worth wasting time and thought over as an applicant
Be honest, do your best and do your part and know that what goes around comes around. Someone who’s falsifying their midterm report clearly isn’t on the right track.
Can’t wait until they start looking at our applications! Sorry to go off here but I’m really ticked off with people like this guy @josechaves76 What’s your GPA bro? It must be below a 2.00 for you to be writing arrogant and uneducated comments. All the worst of luck in your admission a-hole.
@TerrierNation @CTUR782 They’ve already started reading transfer apps! Good luck guys
Can you email your midterm report to UVA? If so whats the email I should use?
undergradadmission@virginia.edu is the email.
Meanwhile, I needed to do well on a math test to get that 4.0 midterm report, and of course I just bombed it. Now I’m reconsidering whether I should send it.
Other sources have said that you must send in a hardcopy with signatures. What has everyone else done?
What sources?
The 2017 transfer thread. Are you sure UVA Admissions has received your Midterm Report? @TerrierNation
So does anyone know if UVA will take the midterm report via email or if I have to next-day mail it? Shot an email out but if someone knows now it’d be even better
@overseer what stats did your friends who got into UVA as a transfer have?
Why are our comments getting deleted? Are we not allowed to have an uncensored conversation?
@TerrierNation I think it’s for the best haha
Yah lol a few of my previous comments have been deleted. It’s all good. This isn’t meant to be a hostile place. All the best of luck to everyone in the coming month.
Guys, every day I’m more nervous about my drawbacks, and my “hooks” seem less significant. I’m feeling like I have a 60/40 chance in favor of getting in. Am I freaked out about nothing or is it a tough call? I’m here for moral support but an honest opinion is most valuable. What are y’alls non-admissions counselor opinions? All thoughts appreciated!
Hooks:
- all transfer course reqs met except language bc English is my second language, and I’m testing out of it
- several years of work experience in my major. Like, 5+ as a full time professional while in school for 2 of those 5
- gpa above the average though not amazing (3.72)
- well-written essay with a good story, though I could have done better. Would’ve still gotten an A if it were a class assignment, but not my absolute best
Drawbacks:
- only 40 transferable creds total
- language req not met
- misdemeanor in 2015 (I was honest about it on Common App)
I know I’m getting ahead of myself here, but could a B or B- lead to a rescinded acceptance?
@TerrierNation No way. A similar question was asked at the open transfer house and accordingly students will only get their offers rescinded if they BLOW it (think multiple C’s & D’s, F’s, etc.)
