waitlisted cas!!
in state
4-year oos college
gpa: 3.68
hs gpa: 3.65
ecs: social sorority, national honor fraternity, and club sports
no midterm report, didn’t send my test scores, no financial aid, had a recommendation from my prof for which I got a B in the class (so maybe that helped?), essays were fair, and just made the amount of transfer credits (I switched my major from a bs to a ba).
so I am honestly surprised/shocked/elated that I even got waitlisted, but after this semester I’m sure that is where I will be staying:/, but congrats to all!! and for future transfers to compare, I got into tech also with these stats!
4.0 GPA
In-State from Blacksburg
59 credits
New River Community College
White/Hispanic
Solid Essay
Good recomendation from Econ. professor
No SAT/ACT to report due to time elapsed
International Highschool
Waitlisted applied after just one year. NVCC 4.0 GPA w/15 credits. I submitted final grades but they didn’t get it in time I guess seeing as I’m waitlisted. Hoping to get off of the waitlist. Historically on the blog, lots of people who maintain GPA or do extraordinarily well their spring semester have a good chance of making it off the waitlist. Keep working hard guys if you’re waitlisted, because your spring grades will ultimately determine the outcome.

Really thought I was going to get in. This sucks. @iamworried264 I guess they really love to waitlist the five colleges!
@msport Oh nice! What is your name again? I think I vaguely remember speaking with you. Also, good luck with the waitlist, too, at least we can all support each other here and understand how stressful it really is.
@Collegehelp4us Thanks a lot for the comment. I am admitted as rising Junior in Arts and Science. Is it possible to declare business major even though I am admitted as Arts/Science? If needed, I am willing to spend an extra one year to get into business major though.

Staying on the waitlist/doing whatever else necessary—UVA is truly my #1.
@alarak thanks a lot for the info. Im accepted as rising junior Arts and Science. In my case, would it be possible to attend another year at UVA to get into Mcintire, even if I am accepted as AS??
@CantGoBackToJail yes absolutely. Mcintyre is only for junior admissions. If you are a UVA student, you don’t enroll directly to Mcintyre I think but apply at the end of your sophomore year. The path is the same for freshman and transfer students @uvahopeful6014 I’m sorry, but wasn’t your “magic” GPA number a 4.0?
UVA makes it very clear once you get to CAS as a third year you cannot pivot into McIntire; you would have to be admitted to McIntire now, as an incoming 3rd year!
