Wait what? How did you get notified so early in June for CAS? I’m pretty sure a wave hasn’t gone out because Transfermer would’ve posted on the blog by now. Maybe you got lucky lol? Congrats by the way. I hope you stick around on this thread and wait for me xD

Hey guys! Rising freshman at JMU here. Kinda mad at myself for not applying to UVA last year but I think I have a decent shot at transferring as a rising second year. I’m just beginning the application process- I’m a little behind, but anyways. Any advice on what to focus on / what to do to better my chances? Any emails I should send, classes I should take, visits, interviews I should do, etc.? How similar is the transfer process to a normal application?
Also- some brief stats- if anyone wants to chance me.
SAT : 1310 (720 english, 590 math)
Weighted GPA (high school) : 4.4
ECs : President of spanish club, did a few years of cross country + swim team and that took up most of my time. Volunteered at Virginia Museum of Fine Arts for a couple years, Key Club. ECs not strong for me.
I think I had a decently good essay, but that’s pretty subjective.
If I really try to kill it this year with good grades would I have a decent shot? I was rejected from quite a few schools (which in hindsight were reaches) but was accepted into Colgate and Lafayette (didn’t attend due to lack of aid).
