@msport I looked at previous years’ thread, and I think the decisions are going out by waves, not by schools. Except 2016, the first wave is usually going out second week’s Friday, which might be tomorrow. And the first wave usually has both SEAS and CAS, I didn’t find the clear clue showing SEAS is going out before CAS. So I don’t think CAS’s offers are going out alone.
We should expect tomorrow or next Thursday/Friday.
@msport Did you just get that? That should be an indicator of acceptance.
Who else got “inquiry access denied”??? I’m feeling so bad
I REALLY CANNOT BELIEVE I DON’T GET IN WITH A NEARLY PERFECT GPA FROM A PRESTIGIOUS UNIVERSITY
ACCEPTED FROM THE WAITLIST TO CAS ECON WITH A 3.4 GPA BUT CRAZY EC’S. THEY REALLY ARE HOLISTIC OMGGGG I’M CRYING
@msport did u get your official offer?
@deliciousSteak yes. i just accepted and paid my deposit. It’s not too late for you btw. In the event you DON’T get in, i imagine it would ONLY be because you already go to a 4 year… good luck i wish you the best
@msport I’m happy for you, but I’m sad for myself. When did u get the inquiry denied? Was it today?
I have a 4.0 for CAS and still waiting. I believe the first major wave will go out next week.
It looks like decisions are released in different time in a day. One is in afternoon, and the other one is in evening.
@deliciousSteak I have no clue. I honestly did not think that I would get in so I haven’t checked my portal at all. I checked today when I saw someone got into SEAS and it was just there.
Applied CAS: Economics
So was there a wave today then? Never ever have I seen a CAS applicant get in this early. I just don’t understand why we didn’t get notified if there was a potential wave.
I don’t think there was a wave. Looks like just a couple people.
Did you send them a letter before hearing back of your acceptance?
What do you mean by letter?
I sent in: Updated Spring Grades-NOVA Campus Honors Award for leadership (started the finance club and DPA) (scanned into the email)
I also sent them an email last week with proof I got accepted into GW to let them know I was still waiting for UVA. (i’m not sure if this was considered when letting me know yesterday - but I have been very forward about my interest in UVA, and in my email with my nova awards I wrote a paragraph explaining why I was set on UVA - just really a true letter of continued interest)
I finished the semester with a 3.750, overall GPA is now a 3.5 (3.469); Grades: A, A, A, B, W (withdrew from an art class that I don’t need to take - so it didn’t affect my plans at UVA)
I applied to CAS Econ
I hope this helps. What I’ve learned along the process is that UVA truly is holistic and will consider everything when taking a look at your application - so definitely be as vocal as you can about the steps you’ve taken to be at UVA.
Gotcha. Following along w your format, I got a 4.0 this semester to close off my 75 credits with a 4.0. I got accepted into CAS Econ last year, but did not attend. This year I applied directly to McIntire, and although it looks like MSB waitlisted applicants havent heard back yet, I’m worried because I did not send them a letter of continued interest. I did, however, send them an updated transcript. Now I’m worried
@alarak I sent several letters but I haven’t heard back anything.
I really hope the first wave hasn’t ended yet. The chance of second wave is slim.
@deliciousSteak I don’t think we should be too discouraged. It looks like CEAS & McIntire haven’t sent out decisions yet.
That was 100% not a wave yesterday. The accepted applicants only have 48 hours to accept deposit. I find it highly unlikely that the DeanJ has not even posted on the blog informing us of a wave and to pay our deposits. I’m quite sure the first wave will be next week.
