UVA Fall Transfer

Hi all,

I applied as an 2nd year transfer student to UVA. My gpa is a 3.2. I know UVA looks for a 3.4-3.5 gpa. All my courses will fulfill requirements, which I was told by admissions is just as crucial as grades. My supplemental was very strong.

What are my chances? Please let me know what you think. UVA is my dream school and decisions don’t come out for another month.

hi, i think you should get in. what college are you coming from? are you instate or out of state? in-state have a higher chance of getting accepted. I have a 3.7ish and I have all the requirements but foreign languages.

I’m coming from a community college in Pennsylvania, so I’m out of state. Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi there! UVA just posted their admission statistics on their transfer blog a couple of days ago in case you were curious.

@NotHavingFunRN Thanks! I actually did see their stats! The 26% OOS acceptance made me feel better about getting rejected haha.

Yeah it’s crazy the difference between their in-state and OOS. Sorry to hear you weren’t offered admission, but best of luck to you wherever you decide to continue your education!

@NotHavingFunRN It sure is! Thank you, that’s very kind of you to say. I’ve been lucky enough to have been accepted to some other schools I’d be happy at in the fall. I wish you the best at UVA if you end up going there in the fall!
