University of Virginia athletic teams overall had tremendous success this past school year.

So good, that UVA finished third nationally in the Directors' Cup rankings, which measures the success of all sports among all division one schools.

The third-place ranking is Virginia's highest ever in the 17-year history of the Directors' Cup program.

Five different Cavalier teams were ranked #1 this year: baseball, men's lacrosse, men's tennis, men's soccer, and women's rowing.

Twenty-one of Virginia's 25 athletic teams advanced to the post season.

UVA also won seven ACC championships this year, the most of any school in the conference.

Stanford finished first in the Directors' Cup standings, Florida was #2.

Hmmmm…beat out by a very prestigious private and another school that dominates year after year in football and basketball, arguably the only two sports people think matter in college sports. Oh, and our football and basketball teams suck.

UVa, ftw!! Maybe they realize that students love and support every sport here, even when our two most “popular” sports are nothing better than an excuse to not to do work.

UVA has excellent athletes and some are less well known. Currently 4 of out of the 15 members of the USA Mens Wushu Team attend UVA (Chinese martial arts). You may find them training in the gym preparing for the upcoming Pan American Wushu Championships to be held in October in Argentina.

I know right? When are we gonna do something about that?
