UVA is my dream school! What are my chances?

I’m coming pretty close to the end of my Junior year of a full IB program at one of the best high schools in the southeast. I have a 3.46 GPA (unweighted) and a 3.95 HPA (my school’s weighted GPA).

That HPA gives a 5.0 weight to APs and IB classes (and AICE too I guess, all of my junior year classes which should have been APs are now AICE). I’m just going to lump AP and AICE together - I’ll have taken 5 by the end of this year. On my 3 AP exams I scored 4, 4, 3. I take tests for the two AICE classes in just over a month.

I’ve taken almost the heaviest course load allowed at my school (excluding math classes, because they are just not my thing).Every class I’ve taken excluding mandatory PE and my debate + weight training electives has been honors or higher. All of my Junior + Senior year classes are IB (but some apparently double as AICE - that bit confuses me).

Back to math classes not being my thing, my GPA has been brought down by 3 C’s in math (literally half of my semesters of math are C’s). Besides that though, my grades are A’s and B’s skewed towards A’s.

My SAT scores still haven’t come back yet, but I scored just shy of a perfect score on the PSAT (760/760 reading + writing, 710/760 math) and am predicted to score extremely well on the SAT as well.

As far as ECs go, I feel that I’m in reasonably good shape.

  • I've been on the Varsity debate team since sophomore year, and I have a few certificates and awards from those tournaments.
  • I was the Vice President of our school's flight club (we would go to air shows, participate in ground school, that kind of thing) for about a year before I had a falling out with a couple of the other officers and decided to abandon it - I think I'm actually half way to earning my pilot's license, I should probably check on that.
  • My friend and I started a business back in freshman year buying and refurbishing broken computers, I don't know how great that would look on my college app
  • I got a paid internship at a local law firm where I essentially act as an administrative assistant and run the firm's SEO program
  • I've been playing tennis recreationally since 8th grade, and I'm trying out for the school's team next year
  • I have 200+ community service hours
  • I'm a member of a few other clubs as well

My GPA might not be the best, but I’m hoping that my courseload + scores will help admissions officers to look past it. Any thoughts?
