How long does it normally take in-state for a mail package to arrive? On August 24th my sis sent me a package from home, which is about 2 hours and 30 minutes on car to UVa. It hasn't arrived yet. Tracking has the package at Sandston, VA since 2 days ago. Sandston is roughly 10 miles from Charlottesville according to Google Maps.

I need the book in the package by next week, but given how long the package has been taking so far to arrive to Sandston, I'm not even sure if it will get here by then. I asked my sister, and she said that she did write my name and all 9 digits for zip code.

It all depends on the method in which she sent it. If she mailed it book rate it can take longer - even when close! I’ve had things that easilly could have gotten to me faster wait if the method used to send is economy rate or similar because they get deprioritized at the post offices and things sent at higher rates get through faster. One thing to note though for packages is UPS Ground is fairly inexpensive and delivery is based on distance and within a radius it will get there in 1 day (in-state qualifies as 1 day) so no need to spend for overnight if you can make the ground cut-off for delivery as they’ll get there next day. Hopefully it will get there tomorrow as Monday is a Federal Holiday so no mail will be coming through.
