UVA Mcintire?

Okay so I currently attend Villanova. Towards the end of first semester I decided to send out a transfer app to UVA, just to see if I got in....Its was the only one I applied and I somehow got in. My second semester at nova was nothing special, although the social scene did pick up on campus.

I am wondering what the difficulty is for transfer students trying to get in to Mcintire? Anybody know someone who has gone through the process or gone through it themself?

At this point I would be saving a ton of money by going to UVA, but I do want to do finance, think IB, when I graduate so Mcintire would be a huge plus.

Its a really tough decision, but coming from people that know both or either reputation career wise, academics wise, social wise...what do you think, how do both compare?

You had me at, “saving a ton of money”. That’s a signficant reason alone to transfer to UVa. Villanova is a respected school, but I think your job possibilities out of McIntire (if you get in) would be hard to beat. If you are instate for UVa, I think it would be a wise decision.

I am instate and would be saving 30 grand a year. That is huge for me and my parents as they are shouldering the load for me to go to Nova.

You should strongly consider transferring. Not only is UVA more convenient financially, but it has a top-ranked business school. If you’re worried about leaving your friends behind, you can always visit. And you DEFINITELY shouldn’t worry about making new friends at UVA; everyone I’ve met in Charlottesville is friendly and enthusiastic and generally awesome.

Also, it’ll be easier for you to try to get into McIntire next year as a UVA student than it would be as an external applicant.

Look at the McIntire prerequisites and make sure you are on track.

You may also want to speak with a McIntire admissions advising representative and see what they say regarding entrance to the program as it pertains to your particular situation. Ask if you are you on track with the courses you have taken at Villanova. Are there other courses you need to take maybe over the summer at UVa to be on track. These are all good to know ahead of time.

My other suggestion to you is before you commit to UVa is if you do not get into McIntire decide on what else would be your course of study/major.

Hope this helps!
