to my understanding, the honor committee doesn't deal with felonies. rape is a felony handled by a court, not within UVa. if convicted, the person goes to jail, and out of UVa regardless.

i dont see rape as within honor committee jurisdiction

You must be kidding. I think the joke here is your understanding of the Honor system.

Survivors of sexual assault have several avenues for redress, if they choose:
o Criminal prosecution
o Civil suit
o UVa Sexual Assault Board hearing
o Mediation

66472, Honor covers lying, cheating, and stealing. Rape does not follow under those categories, and as I've said, the student governance body to deal with that is UJC (SAB is a divisionary of that I believe). Of course, there are other non-student based actions one can do, like what super.nova just posted.

As I have also asked before, do we accuse rapists of stealing in the U.S. Court system? No, we charge them with rape, obviously. There's a reason it's not considered stealing and why it doesn't fall under the Honor Code. I highly doubt you even attend this school or have attended this school if you believe otherwise.

The Honor Committee does deal with felonies, but of the stealing variety (grand larceny, etc).
